Church is an assembly to all people who responded to the gospel by the grace of God, through faith in Christ alone. Local church is also where the Christians can gather and have fellowship to the other believers. Church itself has the history, when the church was starting, who are the people involved this?
As I studying church history this second semester I found out that there is a lot of church fathers involved in spreading the good news. These church fathers was persecuted because of their belief in Jesus Christ. One of these church fathers was Peter. They crucified him upside down. It was so brutal because Christ already died for all of us but because of their ignorance they crucified him. I can see here that if I live before together with the church fathers, maybe I cannot survive as well. But thank to the Lord He did not allow it to happen to me.
As I evaluated myself to the life of our church fathers, I cannot say that I am strong enough like them. Because sometimes I also afraid of dying not because I won't live here anymore but I am afraid who will share the gospel to my family. And I noticed as well how our church father died for their belief in Jesus. My prayer is that I can be like them who always stand what is right in front of God not in front of the people. Because I do believe that everyone will destined to die, so why afraid of dying if I knew that I received and accepted the author of life. I must be firm in believing that whatever problems will come Jesus is there, my refuge and strength in times of suffering. I am so blessed studying Church History because I can have the information why I need to stand for what I am believing for. For God be the glory and honor!
